jaylah likes to blast music all over engineering and at first it’s great, but after a while scotty can’t take it anymore and he doesn’t want to hurt her feelings, but with the volume and the echo in engineering, it has to stop and it has to stop now. so he gets her a set of headphones and explains how they work.
“see, you just put them like that over your ears and put that wee bit there in the player, and then the beats and shoutin’ are right in your ears as loud as you like.”
scotty gets to enjoy the newfound quiet for about ten minutes until he realises the hard way that jaylah’s never had headphones in her life when she walks up behind him and yells “THANK YOU, MONTGOMERY SCOTTY, THESE ARE VERY GOOD” and scotty nearly has a heart attack.
